From September 19 to October 31, Ministry of Labour (MOL) inspectors will focus on chemical handling to check that employers have taken the proper steps to protect workers from chemical hazards. To prepare for this blitz:

• Ensure you have up to date WHMIS training records available for all workers
• Ensure controls and use of personal protective equipment is practiced by all workers
• Ensure chemicals are stored and handled safely, and workers are following proper procedures
• Ensure emergency procedures in case of spills, body splash or contact with skin and eyes, is in place and communicated to all workers
