4 Steps of Injury Reporting
In accordance with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) policies the 4 steps of injury or illness reporting are:
Step One– Get medical attention. Ensure that the worker gets appropriate medical attention. This can include providing first aid or transportation to the appropriate medical facility.
Step Two – Investigate and document. Keep a detailed record of what happened and the steps taken to correct the problem.
Step Three – Report to the WSIB. Employers must submit a form 7 within 3 days.
Step Four – Stay part of the team. Keep in touch with your worker and the WSIB to plan for your worker’s safe return to work.
